Your Data, Your Privacy

Middle Class Finance LLC ("Middle Class Finance," "we," "us," or "our") takes your privacy seriously. All of your financial data is stored securely on our servers and is never transmitted to any third-party services. We are committed to keeping your information safe and private.

What We Store

• Account information (name, email, encrypted password)
• Financial data you enter (transactions, budgets, accounts, goals, debts)
• Application preferences and settings

All data is stored in our secure PostgreSQL database. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell, share, or transmit your financial data to any third parties
• We do not use tracking cookies
• We do not connect to external financial institutions or APIs
• We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our public pages (page views, traffic sources, device types). This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics does not have access to your financial data, and we do not use it on authenticated pages like your dashboard. You can opt out of Google Analytics using a browser add-on from Google.

Data Security

Your data is protected by JWT-based authentication, encrypted passwords, input validation, rate limiting, and security headers. We continuously monitor and update our security measures to keep your information safe.

Desktop App Data

The MCF Desktop app stores your financial data locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. When connected to the internet, your local data syncs with our servers so you can access it from the web app.

Your authentication token is stored in an encrypted local store on your device. Data remains on your device when you are offline and syncs automatically when you reconnect.

Uninstalling the desktop app removes all local data from your device. Your data on our servers remains accessible via the web app.

Data Storage Locations

• Web App: All data is stored on our servers only.
• Desktop App: Data is stored both locally on your device and on our servers (for sync).

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at Admin@middleclassfinance.app. Upon request, all of your data will be permanently removed from our servers.

Data Export

You can export all of your financial data at any time using the CSV export feature available on each page, or download a monthly PDF report from the Dashboard. Your data belongs to you.

Children's Privacy

Middle Class Finance LLC is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 13 has created an account or provided personal information to us, please contact us at Admin@middleclassfinance.app and we will promptly delete the account and all associated data.
